Introducing the App

Introducing the App
Last fall, we received a $1,000 grant request for our proposal to develop a custom church app. We chose Subsplash, which is perhaps best service available. They provide the church app, plus simple, low-fee online giving, a website, and more. They also  give a significant UMC discount, including the full cost of the set up fee ($999)!

In our grant application, we stated a very modest goal of having 20 downloads of the app within the first month or so, and up to 40 after a year. Our app went live on Feb. 20 and by Sunday evening Feb. 26 (the official launch day), we had 50 downloads already (and counting). We had "soft launches" during the previous week (Ad Board, Bible study, etc.).

We've said all along that we have two primary purposes …
  • We want to provide a service for our current members, who have smartphones.
  • We want to reach new (and younger) people!

We are now able to give online by credit/debit card or bank transfer. The fees are low: 1% for bank transfer and 2.3% + 30¢ for credit/debit card. There are no monthly contract fees for the church. You can give online on our website or in the app.

Online giving is simply another method of giving that is more convenient for many people today, especially younger people.

We also have a new website that's designed with churches in mind. Please visit WehnwoodUMC.com and check it out!

There's also have a "live-streaming platform" where the livestream can automatically be sent to the website, Facebook, YouTube, and now, the app all at the same time!

You can download the app on our home page, or you can click here.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need any help. And after you start using the app, please let us know how it's going. Thank you!
