Catching Our Breath
As I shared last month, the month of June was a busy, mission-focused time in the life of our church!
Each Sunday evening, we participated in Saturate Altoona for the 3rd year in a row. It was a simple thing for us to do—give away free freeze pops—but we trust that God used our gifts as a practical way to show people God's love!
We also had a wonderful Relay for Life—another opportunity to be a witness in the community.
And, every month, we have opportunity to show God's love through Community Lunch. This month, a man who received a free boxed lunch watched the worship service online and filled out a Connect Card!
And we had an amazing Music Camp — 100+ campers, who played great music and donated 17 cartloads to the Altoona Food Bank as well as $1,350 to the Central PA Humane Society. Thanks be to God!
Thank you all who helped us be the hands and feet of Jesus in any way!
Now, as we settle into a more manageable routine, it's time to catch our breath. Jesus said …
Come to me, all you who are struggling hard and carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11.28).
We trust God will give us fruit …
Let’s not get tired of doing good, because in time we’ll have a harvest if we don’t give up (Galatians 6.9).
Amen!
